Besign Foundry officially releases the new open-source font Orbix, inspired by the sci-fi epic film Dune, exploring the fusion of minimalist beauty and the timeless meaning between the vast universe and the order of words.

Orbix is a stylized open-source font specially designed for the AdventureX project. The glyphs are built with smooth curves to create a visual framework, with a simple yet dynamic overall shape. The core design inspiration comes from the title font of the movie Dune, where we created a highly recognizable circular structure. This points to the openness of graphic semantics while echoing the circular symbol in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs that symbolizes "eternity".

The font name Orbix is derived from the Latin word Orbis, meaning ring or world, symbolizing a cosmic journey revolving around graphic language.

The first released version, Orbix Regular, is officially available on GitHub starting today, following the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL 1.1). Global developers and designers can freely download, use, and recreate it.
